Overview: The MD36 range of interfaces is designed for applications where the need is for low power re-transmission. It simplifies the task of incorporating a piece of equipment into a larger system which operates on a different transmission standard. The MD36 is a compact and robust unit which is easy to install in locations where space is restricted. The MD36/8 is used as an interface between a gyro compass or TMC that provides a NMEA 0183 digital output and receiving devices that require a Step (S-Type) input. When suitably adjusted the MD36/8 reads the transmitted heading with no errors and re-transmits this as a Step (S-Type) output to within 0.166° accuracy.
